Certified Praesidium Guardian
Keep Your Certification Active.
As of January 1, 2023, all existing certifications have been extended for three years, expiring on January 1, 2026. Before their expiration on January 1, 2026, Guardians must meet two requirements to renew their certification for an additional three years: (1) pay a $500 recertification fee*, and (2) earn 30 Safety Points. These Safety Points can be accumulated through various activities, at any time and in any sequence, during the three-year period.
Guardians are responsible for tracking earned safety points by following THESE STEPS.
*Note: The $500 recertification fee applies unless otherwise stated in a contractual agreement. There is no recertification fee for YMCA Guardians.

How to Track Safety Points

Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps to log your Safety Points in Praesidium Academy:
- Sign into Academy
- Under Leaderboard, click on "Learning Paths"
- Click on the "CPG Safety Point Submissions" learning path
- Select the activity point value (refer to Recertification Guide if unsure)
- Click on "Start Course" or "Continue"
- Verify the Safety Point value
- Describe what the activity is (optional)
- Submit proof of activity
- Click on "Complete Survey"
- Click on the right arrow - this action is necessary to submit your safety point(s)
- Click on "Next Sections" to see your submission on the leaderboard
- You can also view how many points you have from the main learning path page at the bottom ("completion criteria")
Keeping an Eye on Progress
View your Safety Point progress at a glance.
- Access the leaderboard at any time from the Guardian Homepage in Praesidium Academy.
- You may also access the leaderboard from the dashboard.
- Your safety point entries will display on the left-hand side of this board.
- The leaderboard will show your total points along with an anonymous leader of all Guardians.
- Once your 30 safety points are achieved, the badge next to the leaderboard will light up.
- Remember - You must acquire 30 Safety Points within your 3-year certification period to achieve recertification.
